Magic Marker Monday

Photobucket
This week I have photos of Tristan and his new triangular Crayons that promote Tripod grasp. I ordered them from Super Duper Publications LINKHERE
Unfortunatley my Camera isn't working so great these days. So the photos are a bit blurry.
He is adjusting the crayon here

OK all set up ready to colour

I have to be honest Tristan is not in Love with these crayons but I am hoping they will grow on him. He has a hard time to keep his fingers in this position for long and looses interest fast. As you can tell by his sweet drawing.

BTW the 2 dark lines you see I did to encourage Tristan to use the crayons. If you click the photo it will enlarge then you can see his little light lines that he made :) It's a start

This is so like Frog's art. I bought him large rectangular bee's wax crayons - he likes how they feel when he bites them. At this point it seems anything he does is just to humor me. He used to bring home really cute art projects from school. Clearly it was Para Julie's work we were showcasing on the computer. We've shifted home school art to very sensory based experiences - not your traditional pre-school projects but more enjoyable for all.

These are interesting crayons - I haven't seen them before. I'm glad he used them a little bit; hopefully they will grow on him. :)

Tristan did great! Those crayons are cool, I haven't seen those before.

That reminds me of LB's art, he's not a fan of coloring but has recently developed an interest in markers. He spends as much time taking the lids off and putting them back on as he does actually coloring, but hey, it's a start :). My older boys weren't much on coloring either but now they enjoy it, especially when they are drawing trains :). OT has really helped with their hand strength, and that has made a big difference.

Good for you to keep trying and encouraging him, and to keep offering him different "tools" to help him find what works best!

Great job Tristan! Looks like he had a little fun too -- those crayons are a great idea and I hope they work out for him. We're having to work on grip too and have been working with triangular pencils. Keep up the good work, Tristan!
