As you can see from my Magic Marker Monday post that Tristan is not a fan of coloring. It isn't something I push but something he must learn to love if he is going to learn to write. Tristan and I often use less traditional methods to express his creativity. His favorite one is the Popsicle/Jello painting.
I make our coloring Popsicles with just water. Although I have seen it done with juice especially good idea if your child is in need of extra nutrition and calories (this came in handy post T@A surgery) He then has a variety of colors of jello to choose from and dips his Popsicle in the jello and paints on the paper. I don't like my children to consume too much sugar so we don't do this everyday or anything. Usually on the weekend as a treat. This activity is fun and doubles up as an introduction to coloring and also good sensory stimulation. You have to know there will be alot of tasting of the Popsicle. :) Chanelle and I also enjoy this activity. Loads of fun and sweet!

Oh Fun! I love crafts thanks!
What a super cute idea! I never thought of that. I'll have to try it with all my kids. Luckily Zach loves art and writing but still, what a fun activity. Thanks for the idea.
This sounds like fun. Art projects that are ok to taste are always a good thing at our house. Thanks Kari :0)
Love it! What a great idea!
What a neat idea! I love it when we can take something and make it even more fun. :)
I have never seen this before! What a great idea! We're also struggling to teach our little guy to color. Maybe I need to make some coloring popsicles!
I love this idea. Thanks for sharing it. My kids will love it! And anything that helps my son practice his writing is extra great.
I love this idea! Thanks for sharing!
What a great idea! Sounds like fun and would be much better than tasting markers or nibbling on crayons (both of which have happened at our house) :)
